June 2015

Hello, this is the condensed version of June 2015.  It's actually being written a few months later so I hope I can accurately re-tell the events of my first summer in Sioux Lookout.  Without further delay...

Local restaurant Knobby's met its unfortunate demise on June 2

Preparing for a canoe ride to a remote island for a weekend of camping

A few of the common sights of June around CYXL.  The water bomber tankers were actually en-route to Montreal; most of the region's tankers are based in Dryden.

A perfect meal.

Little turtle buddy that we saved on Highway 72 into Sioux Lookout

Dassault Falcon 50
To date I believe this to be one of the coolest aircraft that I have talked to on the radio.  The roar of its three engines on takeoff is glorious.

As the storm approached...

My parents have committed a lot of time and energy to building the cabin this summer.  They had painted recently in the interior of the cabin; when I arrived to stay the weekend, the fumes were overwhelming.  The yard served as a perfect camp site.

Stay tuned for the top pics from July!
